  • UNIQA Assistance
  • Medgate

UNIQA Assistance provides you with information, help and guidance should you need urgent health care assistance outside of the UNIQA office hours in Geneva or when you are abroad.

This service can be reached using a single assistance number, which is printed on the back of your insurance card : +41.22.718.63.77.

The service is worldwide and provided in collaboration with TSM Assistance, who has a global network and know-how.

  • Finding the nearest suitable hospital, clinic, or doctor.

  • Assisting with hospital admission formalities and providing payment guarantees to hospitals abroad.

  • Organising the delivery of emergency medication that is not locally available (on receipt of a doctor’s prescription sent by email or fax).

  • Connecting you to Medgate for medical advice.

If you have a medical emergency while abroad, UNIQA Assistance service is there to help organise medical transportation or evacuation when required for medical reasons.

However, the Assistance service is not a travel insurance and does not provide repatriation or reimbursement for flights.

Hospitalisation in the U.S : Before any admission to a hospital in the United States, whether it concerns a scheduled or emergency hospitalisation, you or the hospital must call UNIQA Assistance. UNIQA Assistance provides the hospital with a payment guarantee, saving you from having to pay a cash deposit before admission. UNIQA will pay the invoice, and you will have to pay the invoice sent by UNIQA, which corresponds to your participation (the FCA, or cost borne by the insured member).

In the event of a life-threatening emergency, always call the local or national emergency services immediately.

Medgate 24/7 Telemedicine. CHIS Members have access to Medgate, one of the leaders in the field of telemedicine, which enables you to consult a healthcare provider remotely via a simple phone call or through the MEDGATE mobile app.

During the teleconsultation, Medgate staff will assess the severity of your health situation and advise you on the next steps to take.

Both UNIQA Assistance and Medgate are available by calling the telephone number: +41 22 718 63 77

The number is printed on the back of your CHIS insurance card and your virtual card which you can find on the myUNIQA app.
