Main Members Contributions

Contribution rates are defined in the CHIS Rules and are reviewed annually. The CERN Council is the sole organ competent to modify the CHIS benefits and contribution rates on the proposal of the Director-General after discussion in the Standing Concertation Committee (CCP). However, the ceilings of reimbursement of certain benefits are indexed annually, according to the evolution of CERN salaries. Changes in the contribution rates are published on the CHIS website, in the CERN Bulletin and in the Official Communications for the CERN community.

If they have opted for the reduced cover, the contribution is a fixed amount payable in advance every month and as of January 2020 is 615 CHF per month.
