Subsidiary Members contributions

Contributions paid by the Main Member covers the whole family. However, a supplementary contribution may be due if the spouse or partner of the Main Member receives an income deriving from a professional activity and/or of any retirement pension received, and does not have their own similar basic health insurance.

The supplementary contribution is deducted directly from the monthly salary the Main Member receives from CERN, or from the pension received from the CERN Pension Fund.

Main Members are therefore required to inform the Organization in writing of the spouse's gross income by completing the Spouse's Health Insurance and Professional Income Declaration (SHIPID).

Please be reminded that on request, the Main Member must provide supporting documentation relating to the spouse's gross monthly income in accordance with Articles IV 2.02 and IV 2.03 (salary slip for employees, annual income declaration for self-employed persons, pension statement for pensioners).
