Return of the ticks!

With spring here and summer just around the corner, it’s time to get back outdoors and enjoy the warmer weather and longer daylight hours. But as we embrace the coming season, another season quietly returns with it: tick season.

These parasitic-mites can carry serious diseases such as Lyme disease and tick-borne encephalitis (TBE).

Find out more about ticks and tick-borne diseases, vaccination possibilities, how to protect yourself and what to do if you are bitten by a tick on the dedicated Medical Service webpage: https://hse.cern/ticks.

*Please note that under the CHIS Regulations, reimbursement of the vaccination by the CHIS follows the conditions in force in the country where the vaccination is dispensed. In Switzerland the vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is reimbursed by the CHIS only if it is prescribed and carried out by a doctor. In France, the vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is not reimbursed by the CHIS.
